A thorough consultation with the chiropractor

We look at the whole picture

Like other health-care providers, chiropractors follow a standard assessment to gain information. A detailed case history is taken, followed by a physical examination, (we may request laboratory analyses and/or scans/x-rays). Chiropractors also conduct a careful analysis of your structure and pay particular attention to the spine and surrounding muscles.

We also ask you about your life to gain information associated with your health and presenting complaint. Do you eat well? What do you do for exercise? How do you deal with stress? Do you have children? What do you do for work? And so on.

During the examination you may find it more comfortable to wear loose clothing or if you prefer you can wear a patient gown. Changing facilities are available.

We seek the origin of the problem

Using this information a diagnosis is made and the probable cause for your pain or discomfort.

Chiropractors seek the origin of the problem; we do not simply treat the symptoms. For example, if you’re a headache sufferer, do you continue to take pain killers indefinitely, or do you seek the cause and aim to correct it.

We fix the origin of the problem

Chiropractors typically practice using natural, non-invasive spinal adjustments with soft tissue manipulation and then rely on the body's ability to adapt and self heal.

It is important to remember that, just like your teeth, your spine experiences normal wear and tear, as you walk, drive, sit, lift, sleep, and bend. Routine chiropractic care can help you feel better, move with more freedom, and stay healthier throughout your lifetime.
