General Chiropractic FAQs

What does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor diagnoses and treats musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those affecting the spine, joints and nervous system. Using hands-on techniques such as spinal adjustments and soft tissue therapy, chiropractors help relieve pain, improve mobility and support overall wellbeing.

Is chiropractic treatment safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is widely recognised as a safe and effective treatment when performed by a qualified professional. Our practitioners use evidence-based techniques tailored to each individual’s needs.

Do I need a GP referral to see a chiropractor?

No. You can book an appointment directly without a referral from your GP.

What happens during the first appointment?

Your initial consultation includes a detailed medical history, physical examination including digital posture assessment and diagnosis. We will then arrange another appointment as soon as possible called your Report of Findings. This will give your Chiropractor time to throughly assess all the findings, including your digital posture assessment and create a personalised care plan. If you’re happy with all the information provided as this appointment care can begin.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, lifestyle and goals. Some patients experience relief quickly, while others benefit from a structured course of treatment.

Will treatment hurt?

Chiropractic care is generally gentle and comfortable. Some patients experience mild soreness after treatment, similar to post-exercise discomfort, which typically resolves within 24–48 hours.
